BIO
Cary Lamb Jr. began dancing at 8 years old in Hempstead, New York. His first class was Tap dance for beginners and he’s been in love ever since. Later he would learn more at TDO: Tap Dancing Only. There he bloomed as a joyful and dynamic performer. He started by imitating his favorite performers such as Michael Jackson, Gregory Hines, Beyoncé, and then set out to create a style all his own.
When he was 14, he became the choreographer and student leader of the Uniondale show choir “Rhythm of the Knight”. With the team, Cary has performed for the New York Mets, the Brooklyn Nets, and with each standing ovation they made a name for themselves in the competition circuit. Cary led the group to compete and win Grand Champion at the New York FAME Show Choir Competition while also winning the Best Male Stage Presence Award two years in a row. After graduating from Uniondale High school be began studying at Stony Brook University where he graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts and Dance.
In 2017, Cary joined the North American Tour of STOMP! A show known as an international sensation filled with music, body percussion, dance and spectacle. He played the role of "Particle Man" during the national tour and went on to perform in the NYC Off-Broadway production.
There is no question that Cary’s success as a performer was not achieved on his own. He owes his success to the mentors he has had along the way. His mother is Denise Lamb who encouraged him to teach praise dance at a young age. His teacher, Lynnette Carr-Hicks, creator and director the Rhythm Of The Knight show choir, who taught him a love for the stage. And his dance mentor, Shaune Faust, who pushed his potential as a Tap dancer and choreographer at TDO. Today he continues his work as a profession dancer, performer, and designer dedicated to spectacular storytelling through movement. The show has only just begun.
